The Wellness Department at MHCC provides education and support programs that teach individuals, organizations and our community to take greater responsibility for their health and wellbeing. Scheduled Programs Care Club Membership - MHCC Wellness Department offers its Care Club Members discounted blood tests, the Wellness Department will then mail you your results. You will also receive a 5% discount in our Cafeteria the Green Arbor Café, with your card. Allergy Clinic - MHCC Wellness Department has a walk-in Allergy Clinic ready to assist those who suffer from allergies with their scheduled injections. We do not provide testing, but are here to administer the antigen developed by your allergist. Availability: Monday and Thursday, 2:00-6:00 PM, if you cannot make the walk-in clinic you can call to schedule a more convenient time. Cardiac Rehabilitation - The MHCC Wellness Department provides Cardiac Rehabilitation for those individuals who have had a cardiac bypass surgery or stent placement. These people are exercised after their procedure in a safe environment where their heart rhythm and other vital signs are monitored by an RN. Coag Clinic - MHCC Wellness Department provides a walk-in coag clinic for people on blood thinners. During each visit the patient is assessed, vital signs are done and their PT/INR level is checked. The nurses advise patients on adjustment of their Coumadin dose. The nurse also provides the patient with education about diet and safety precautions they need to follow. All physicians are kept updated on their patients INR level through progress notes made by the nurse. Diabetic Education - MHCC Wellness Department offers Diabetic Education to newly diagnosed individuals and to those who have had the disease for some time. Along with our registered nurses, our registered dietician plays a key role in helping patients keep their blood sugars regulated. Nutrition Counseling - MHCC Wellness Department has a registered dietitian on staff two days a week waiting to assist diabetics, people considering bariatric surgery, and other nutritional needs. Converse County Safe Kids Chapter - MHCC Wellness Department is home to the Converse County Safe Kids Chapter and the child safety seat inspection station which is a non-profit organization dedicated to reducing unintentional injuries in children in Converse County. Child safety restraints and bicycle helmets are issued at a discounted price to low-income parents/caregivers at the inspection station. The Converse County Safe Kids Chapter is made possible through donations received; this chapter also received Wyoming’s 2010 Chapter of the Year Award. Availability: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM- 4:30 PM by appointment only. Contracted Worksite Physicals - MHCC Wellness Department contracts with different companies to do worksite physicals and may include consultations. From new hire physicals to return to work physicals, these physicals include vitals, vision screening, hearing testing, pulmonary function, drug test, lab tests, chest x-rays and an exam with a physician. These physicals are designed to meet the needs of your company and your employees. Availability: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM- 4:30 PM by appointment only. MHCC Employee Programs - MHCC Wellness Department offers different programs throughout the year to its employees. These programs are designed to assist MHCC employees in living healthier lives through nutrition, education, and exercise. Smoking Cessation Counseling - MHCC Wellness Department is here to assist you or a loved one with the challenges of quitting smoking. MHCC is a tobacco free facility inside and out. MHCC knows the benefits associated with quitting tobacco and we are here to assist you. You may also want to try the Wyoming Quit Tobacco Program at 1-800-784-8669. Worksite Health Fairs - These are programs that are based upon the needs of your employees. The program is coordinated by a registered nurse and the programs are presented at you workplace or place of choice during working hours. By keeping your employees healthy, worksite productivity increases. Programs include height, weight, blood pressure, body fat percentage, blood screenings, flu vaccines, and education. These options can be customized to your place of business.
