Collector/Self Pay -
If you are an exceptional communicator, negotiator, and motivator with a collections background, Memorial Hospital of Converse County has an opportunity for you! We are seeking an organized individual with strong mathematical, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills to join our team as a Self-Pay Collector.
This position works self-pay accounts to obtain payment. This will involve contacting patients by phone as well as by mail to make payment arrangements. Patience and a calm demeanor will be called for to deal with difficult patients, and of course, will benefit interdepartmental communication as well. The Self-Pay Collector will conduct work following Hospital policy and procedure and will work to maintain good patient/hospital relations. Strong emphasis will be placed on customer service and service excellence.
Qualified candidates will need to be able to handle heavy phone volume and have the ability to multitask. Strong computer skills will also be key to this position. Successful candidate will have excellent customer service and computer skills. Previous collection experience is preferred. Employee will work with patients to collect self pay balances according to hospital policy.
Job Qualifications
• One year of business school or equivalent with computer knowledge preferred.
• Requires excellent and persuasive communication skills.
• One to three years medical collections experience preferred.
• Strong mathematical, interpersonal, organization, communication, and problem solving skills.
• Team Player and able to work in a fast paced environment.
• Able to multi-task and shift priorities as required.
