Anna Cobb Named Director of Radiology at Memorial Hospital Converse County
Anna Cobb may be a recent addition to our hospital, but her name will be familiar to many in Douglas. Anna grew up with her family on a ranch in Lost Springs and graduated from Douglas High School. The Wyoming native has worked in the medical field since graduating in 1986, and further obtained her Masters in Clinical Laboratory Science with an emphasis in Blood Banking from The University of Alabama at Birmingham.
Ms. Cobb has an impressive resume including such nationally known providers as the American Red Cross and United Blood Services. When the position of Director of Radiology became available the Leadership team at Memorial Hospital of Converse County saw an opportunity to combine the departments under one experienced Director.
"We want to manage the hospital as efficiently as possible," said CEO Ryan Smith. "Anna is an accomplished manager whose experience allows us to effectively use one person to manage two departments. The combined role helps to tear down silos, reduce costs, and provide a better patient experience," said Smith.
Any new role presents with unique challenges but more importantly opportunities for education. In speaking with Anna she was excited of the possibility of growth and learning a great deal about the Radiology Department workings from no less a mentor than our own Dr. Yutani. Taking on the Director position will also mean she will oversee scheduling, efficiency, meeting quality standards, working with State & Federal Agencies, and most importantly providing outstanding Patient Care.
"I love to learn new things so that I don't just settle in one spot, and that is what I am most excited about with taking on this new role. When I worked for Red Cross then United Blood Services I was used to working with the FDA and other agencies, and those standards change, sometimes daily. It is an exciting change to learn those new standards specific to Radiology."
We wish Anna all our best in this new and exciting role, if you see her please be sure to extend your congratulations!
