Congratulations Allison Barnett - Elected to WAPA Board of Directors

Memorial Hospital of Converse County congratulates Allison Barnett, PA-C, on her election to the Wyoming Association of Physician Assistants (WAPA) Board of Directors! She will serve a 2-year term. We caught up with Allison and asked her thoughts on this election and here is what she had to say!

“I am grateful for the opportunity to serve on the Board of Directors for WAPA. I believe it is so important to support the professional organizations that represent and provide valuable services to its members. Through the organization a member can network and look for/apply for jobs, increase your knowledge through education and get the latest information on what is happening with legislation or the medical community," Allison said via email last week. "I have personally benefited from receiving the WAPA scholarship while in PA school and from the connections with other PA’s. I look forward to working on promoting the PA profession and its benefits to physicians, hospitals and the people of the State of Wyoming. I work in Primary Care and enjoy educating patients on the positive impact of prevention and how even small changes can make a big difference.”
The Wyoming Association of PAs was founded in 1975 to promote the ideals of the PA profession on both the state and national level. WAPA is a constituent chapter of the American Academy of PAs. Wyoming is a rural state. Distance and isolation imposes different concepts and problems for the delivery of quality healthcare. WAPA works closely with the State Board of Medicine, Wyoming Medical Society, and other professional and community organizations to promote access and delivery of quality medical care.
Again we extend our sincere congratulations to Allison on her election and wish her all the best!
