Memorial Hospital of Converse County Honored With Hometown Heroes Award At Annual WAM Conference

The Leadership Team at Memorial Hospital of Converse County attended the 2018 WAM (Wyoming Association of Municipalities) Meeting in Pinedale, Wyoming. This year our team accepted with immense gratitude the Hometown Heroes Award on behalf of our entire organization.

The Hometown Heroes Award recognizes organizations or individuals who work to help make communities successful. The application submitted by the City of Douglas nominating Memorial Hospital of Converse County detailed the various areas that the hospital has worked in recent years including hosting and supporting community events, outreach in the areas of continuing education and support in a variety of areas for our greater community as the support for their nomination. According to the nomination, "MHCC"s many contributions, leadership, and overall support are instrumental to our community's success and quality of life. MHCC has set the standard for philanthropic support, employee well-being, and ways to create a culture of teamwork and growth. Additionally, MHCC is very proactive in creating programs and measures to make our community healthier."

"We love Douglas and we were honored and excited to learn of our nomination by the City of Douglas for this year's WAM Hometown Hero Award," stated Memorial Hospital of Converse County CEO Ryan Smith. "Our community has such great energy right now and the hospital is only a small part of it. We consider ourselves fortunate to live and work here and are grateful for the relationship we have with the City of Douglas and community we call home."

Previous recipients of the Hometown Heroes Award include Converse County Bank, the Episcopal Church, the Bolln Memorial Park Advisory Committee, and individuals like Frank Wescott and Georgia Graves and Steve and Bev Garls. We are honored for our organization to be named amongst such esteemed predecessors, and hope to continue to do work of such measure.

Along with Memorial Hospital being honored, Cathy Freezer Jones was as well honored with the Bartley-Skinner Award which recognizes spouses of elected officials for their contributions. All in all it was a great WAM Conference for Douglas, and again we are humbled with gratitude at having being honored with this award!
