General surgery
There is nothing "general" about surgery at Memorial Hospital other than the name. From your first consult with Dr. William White or Dr. Jonathan Grosdidier, Memorial Hospital is working behind the scenes to ensure every precaution is taken and every element of care is in place for your surgery.
The General Surgeons at Memorial Hospital specialize in a variety of areas including surgeries for the esophagus, stomach, small bowel, colon, liver, pancreas, gallbladder, appendix, bile ducts, and breast biopsy.
Robotic surgery
Abdominal and Gynecological surgeries have evolved over the years from large, open incisions to multi-incision laparoscopy. Today, Memorial Hospital of Converse County is among a handful of surgery centers able to perform single-site surgeries through the belly button, reducing outpatient recovery times, blood loss, and pain.
The daVinci Si Surgical System is designed to overcome the limitations of manual laparoscopy with enhanced capabilities, including high-definition 3-D vision and magnified view. Our surgeons control the da Vinci System, which translates hand movements into smaller, more precise movements of tiny instruments inside the body.
Though it is commonly referred to as a "robot" the daVinci cannot act on its own. The surgery is performed entirely by Memorial Hospital's Board Certified surgeons in Wyoming.
