Mark Murphy, MD

Dr. Mark G. Murphy founded Thunder Basin Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine in 1997 and has been proudly serving the communities of Northeastern and Central Wyoming for over 20 years. He received his medical degree from Brown University School of Medicine where he graduated with honors and was awarded the health professions scholarship from the United States Army. Dr. Murphy did his internship at Letterman Army Hospital and completed his residency training in orthopaedic surgery at Stanford University Medical Center.

Upon finishing his orthopaedic residency in 1994, he fulfilled his military obligation from 1994-1996 at Darnell Army Hospital at Ft. Hood, TX, serving 13 years in the United States Army. He then moved to California where he did a dual fellowship in total joint replacement and sports medicine at the Kerlan Jobe Institute in Los Angeles. Kerlan Jobe Institute proudly serve as team physicians and consultants to a wide variety of Southern California’s professional teams including the Los Angeles Lakers, the LA Dodgers, the LA Kings, the Anaheim Ducks and the Los Angeles Sparks. Dr. Murphy is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons as well as a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
